 Site Guardian Offers WAP-Enabled Reporting CHARLOTTE, NC - December 17, 2000 -- siteGuardian.com, a Southeastern-based Internet monitoring service provider, has added WAP-enabled reporting to its offerings. Customers can now access real-time reports directly from their WAP devices (cell phones, palm devices, etc.) from any location. All reports are transmitted over SSL to ensure security and privacy. With WAP fever spreading and more people taking advantage of wireless technology, Site Guardian steps up to provide a remote, to-the-minute reporting function for delivering information. It's the latest addition to the North Carolina firm's security solutions arsenal. Site Guardian evaluates the response of a client's Web server and notifies the client via e-mail or pager of failures or slow responses. Applications also are monitored for content to ensure forms and login pages work correctly. Summary reports issued by siteGuardian.com give an overview of monitoring results. These reports include average response time, slow responses and failures. Detailed reports provide graphs of average response over time. They enable tracking site performance, which helps in capacity planning and solving server problems. Weekday and hourly graphs also show when servers are utilized the most during the week and indicate the heaviest usage hours during the day. Any slow responses or failures are checked again in a few seconds to rule out "Internet anomalies." Slow responses and failures trigger diagnostic efforts to help pinpoint the problem from network traces, DNS diagnostic efforts, and ping results. Alerts are sent via e-mail or pager to administrators. Thresholds can be set for each monitor to customize the number of alerts sent and to send an "All Clear" message when the problem is fixed.
